Rare F.E. Thomas Rod Company Ledgers

Three composition book company ledgers, each with an F.E. Thomas label including: Receiving 1948-1958, Shipping & Customer Addresses 1953-1956, and Repair Schedule 1958. While there are numerous business accounts for well known tackle retailers throughout each ledger such as Abercrombie and Fitch, Charles F. Orvis, Wm. Mills & Sons, Spaulding, Von Lengerke & Antoine, etc., the majority of orders are from individuals. Listed are notable personalities from the fly fishing community such as Joe Bates and Charles DeFeo, but also important Thomas rod purchasers such as Ted Williams, Judge Sam Tisdale (Superior Court Judge) and President Eisenhower. The earliest ledger has loose covers and is in fair condition, the other two are in near good condition. All but a few entries are legible. Important historical reference for the F.E. Thomas rod collector and a fascinating account of the inner dealings of a most respected rod maker. These recordings represent the last years of the company's existence.
