Made by famous New York rod maker Walt Carpenter, this 2/2 rod is in good condition and features Walt's darkly flamed cane, blued ferrules, deep brown wraps with black tipping, and a cap & ring reel seat with burled black walnut spacer. Carpenter's signature is neatly inked on the butt section and he added a nice spiral signature wrap above his name. The handle is a modified Well's style with an expanded front ring which acts as a comfortable thumb rest. Although the varnish is solid, some areas have a dull sheen and may have been polished, and the wraps and ferrules on both tips have been over-coated with varnish. The ferrules are tight, and all sections are straight and full length. This rod has a crisp dry fly action and comes with the original bag and labeled tube.
