Seldom encountered, this 3/3 rod is in excellent original condition. The cane is Calcutta with the distinctive burn marks. In addition, it has red wraps over flip ring guides and full red intermediates. As was typical of this period, it has spiked nickel silver ferrules, rattan handle, and red cedar inserts that give it a nice swelled butt and are carried through the reel seat. The large nickel silver sliding band and butt cap have fancy knurling and carry the "Bangor, ME" stamping. The only blemish is that one tip top has been snapped off at the very tip and needs to be replaced. Included with this scarce rod is an original ferrule plug on the butt ferrule (which has the patent dates stamping). A past owner's name is stippled on the reel check band. As one would expect for rods of this era, the varnish has fine crazing which only adds to the beauty. It is protected with a non-original cloth sack and plastic tube.
