Spectacular 7' Arthur Middleton Wrapped Rod

This 2/1 bamboo rod of unknown origin has been over-wrapped with decorative thread in an intricate pattern. Using 4 colors of nylon thread, the main pattern is of red diamonds surrounded by progressively larger diamond patterns in yellow, light brown, and darker brown. The amount of work that went into this rod can really be appreciated when examining this under a magnifying lens. There is a typed label on the tube that reads: "Dr. Zhivago's Springtime. Hand woven in 1973 for F… C… by Arthur Middleton using 2695' of Nylon Thread and 20 Finish Coats of Egyptian Varnish". With nickel silver snake guides and a screw down-locking aluminum reel seat. This rod comes with a cloth bag and tube.
