An incredible work, measuring 16 1/4" x 10 1/2", by premier wildlife artist, Alan James Robinson. Robinson's watercolors reside in the top private and public wildlife art collections world wide including the National Library of Australia, Stanford University, Boston Public Library, Harvard University, Kendall Whaling Museum, Princeton University, Museum of Natural History, to name just a few, with selected exhibitions in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Chicago Art Institute, Salamagundi Art Association, The Folger Shakespeare Library, Washington, DC., etc. This large bound portfolio titled "Trout Brown & Rainbow" includes 15 impressive original watercolors by Robinson, slipsheeted with fine Japanese paper, each page with original calligraphy in watercolor, gouache and gold by Suzanne Moore. Cover is blindstamped with the image of trout and fly, with trout fin and fly hand watercolored. Each painting is signed by the artist in pencil, with the next to last page, a vignette of a fly, initialed. Last page is signed in pencil by Robinson and scribe Susanne Moore under "This unique book of watercolours was completed in December 1986". Book, inscribed to the original owner, comes in a custom hinged cloth tray-case. A one of a kind piece by a highly sought artist.
