Original Fishing Water Color by John Swan. Accomplished in watercolor, oil and acrylic, John Swan (1948-present) has become highly respected among the ranks of modern sporting illustrators. Swan's talents surfaced while studying at the University of New Hampshire. The Portland Maine resident's talents were soon showcased in multiple venues throughout New England. This painting was commission in 1987, the same year he was awarded the International Artist of the Year Award from Duck's Unlimited. Titled "Donn Byrne Fishing the Currents, Sutter's Pool, Mirimichi River" the composition shows the gentleman hooking a trout in the New Brunswick waters. Nice overall composure from the foreground of the rocky shore to the distant trees. Watercolor was rendered on paper, measuring 29 1/2" x 18 1/2", professionally matted in a 38" x 27 1/2" frame.
