Rare Comstock Flying Hellgrammite

H. Comstock's Pat Jan 30-83 Fulton N.Y. is stamped on the wings of this exceptional early lure. Having the small 2 1/2" turned and ribbed wood body with plated tail cap, red glass eyes, green head and torso, about VG+ condition, showing rubs to ribs. Wings retain a portion of the original red and luminous paint. Very few known examples of this extremely rare and desirable lure, considered by many to be the first wood bait.
