Rare Early L.S. Hill Envelope & Invoice

Sign In to see what this sold for

Important paperwork from the Grand Rapids, Michigan jeweler granted a patent for Hill's Improved Trolling Spoon in 1876. A wonderful period illustration of the bait appears on both the invoice letterhead, dated 1879, and the envelope. Other than light bending and writing on the envelope Invoice 11 Pkgs, they are both in excellent condition. The order was placed for F.A. Peck in South Otselic, NY, and includes both owners, L.S. Hill and C.D. Spaulding, printed on the invoice. Lure maker ephemera from this era, especially with illustrations, are very rare. Only a very few of the Hill illustrated papers have been found.
