From J.D. Hosmer of Dearborn, MI, one of the finest wooden fishing lures ever made and the most important of all frog style baits. Measuring 5" in the relaxed position, finished in green frog spot with off white belly and red accents, and coming in its original and extremely rare 2 piece cardboard box. Dating to the mid 1930's, this hinged wood body frog features bulging glass eyes, down turned belly mounted single hooks and upturned tail hook, about VG with a few rubs, varnish flakes, and edge wear. Box has label corner loss, scratches and overall wear. With very few known examples of this elusive lure, and even fewer Hosmer top label boxes, this would certainly be a collection centerpiece for the serious frog collector.
