The Enterprise (Pflueger) Mfg. Company produced one of, if not the, earliest commercially made fish decoy. By utilizing their rubber minnow body and adding a top line tie and metal fins, this turn of the century decoy was quickly put into production, only to be replaced by a wood body decoy a short time later. Few of these early examples remain due to the low production number and brittle nature of the rubber which hardened with age. 6" fish is in VG+ condition, very solid, with age lines and a possible area of repair on the left side of face. This metal fin decoy is a transition piece, made between the 1895 decoy with small dorsal fin and the 1905 decoy with larger molded body fins.
