Transfer-decorated Liverpool Pottery Jug, England, early 19th century, with black transfer and polychrome decoration one side depicting a ship above the inscription Mary and Nancy, Captn Wm York, Junr., the ship flying an American flag and pennant; the reverse depicting Washington in Glory/America in Tears, with a monument with a portrait of George Washington, a grieving angel and eagle, (cracks), ht. 9 1/4 in.
Condition reportCondition: 1 1/2 in. rim crack with a small loss, 2 in. horizontal hairlinemid-body both on monument side, minor glaze loss around rim and handle edges, fine but stable crazing.
