Portrait of Captain Seth Crosby. Signed, dated 1834, and subject identified in inscriptions on the reverse "Capt. Seth Crosby/Posa Baiyutupi Carrea Pinxt Genova 1834." Oil on canvas, 29 x 24 1/4 in., unframed. Condition: Three old patch repairs, two c.l., one c.r., craquelure, retouch to hair, cravat, vest, small paint loss on jacket.
