Framed Civil War Fractional Currency and Early Paper Currency, thirty-nine fractional currency notes arranged on an engraved patriotic shield, (1862-1876), the currency was used during and after the Civil War due to the shortage of coins, (water staining, small tear) 19 1/2 x 24 in. (sight), framed; accompanied by eight loose examples of fractional currency and eight bank notes, a 1776 Philadelphia six dollar bill, a 1778 Philadelphia thirty dollar bill, a ten dollar Confederate bill, three 1864 Richmond four per cent Call Certificates, and seven foreign currency notes.
