Two Painted Woven Splint Baskets, America, late 19th century, one gray-painted round over square basket, the other oblong, painted a light mustard tone with reinforcing runner splints on the bottom, (lashing losses on gray basket), ht. 8 1/4, 6, dia. 18 1/4, 13 1/2 in., respectively.

Condition: Both with original paint, the gray basket, while sturdy, is missing about 9 in. total of the rim lashing.
