Unique "Ring the Bells" sculpture, 2009
Remnant glass bells from 2005 Campane di Campana series, assembled "Manila" drops from the 1960s, rope. Overall: 118 1/8 in. (300 cm.) high, 17 1/2 in. (44.5 cm.) diameter. Produced by Venini, Italy. Each incised with "venini per Moss 2005 Campane di Campana" and with "1 / 15," "2 / 15," "3 / 15," "6 / 15," "7 / 15," "9 / 15," "12 / 15," "13 / 15," "14 / 15" and 15 / 15" respectively. Together with a certificate of authenticity from Venini. Comprising 12 bells, 2005, and "Manila" drops, ca. 1960. PROPERTY FROM THE VENINI ARCHIVES LITERATURE Franco Deboni, Venini Glass, Its history, artists and techniques, Vol. I, Milan, 2007, p. 44 for an image of the Moss show The Campana Brothers assembled the present lot at Venini in 2009 from remnant glass bells hand-blown there on the occasion of their 2005 series 'Campane di Campana', which was first exhibited at Moss, New York.
