A choice amulet of the hippo goddess Taweret, Late Period, c.664 - 30 BC, featuring pregnant belly and well detailed face. Old clean break repaired at chest, otherwise a nice piece retaining much of its green color. H: 2 5/8" (6 cm). Ex Negus collection, England, with old tag on base.
