Apulian red-figure lidded Lekanis, Greek Italy

An Apulian red-figure lidded Lekanis, Greek South Italy, 4th Century BC, decorated with ladies of fashion seen in profile alternating with palmettes. One of the ladies possesses a pyxis behind her head and each with rosettes before and behind; a wave pattern along the rim. The knob handle is also decorated wit a palm design. Handle span 9" (23.2 cm), H: 5 ½" (14cm). Minor repair and a few chips, otherwise a nice example! Ex Ventura County collection.
