An interesting terracotta vessel from Central Asia, Islamic, 10th - 14th century. The body of the vessel is pear-shaped with a fish tail, the mouth open with eyes and lips. Three handles are on the sides of the spout, each with a ram's horn style device. Nice geometric paint on the body in brown, the belly of the vessel in orange. Intact save for the three peg-legs missing. L: 5 ˝" (14 cm); H: 3 ˝" (9.2 cm). Ex Los Angeles collection.
