A nicely incised rectangular bronze buckle terminal, Late Roman, c. 4th - 5th Century AD. Of roughly rectangular shape, the exterior side rounded and the face is engraved with a coiled sea monster, the water indicated with lines. Several loops for attachment. Nice brown patina. Greatest length 1 ¼" (3.5 cm). Ex Royal Athena Gallery, New York.
