Khmer Cambodia sandstone head of a temple deity

A choice carved Khmer sandstone head of a temple deity or heavenly being, Cambodia, 12th - 13th century, Ankor Wat period. Nicely carved with wide eyes, smiling lips, broad nose and elongated ear lobes. Tall headdress executed with much detail, a flower on the top. Some minor chipping and with good deposits. H: 12 ¾" (32.3 cm). Mounted on an base. From an old Los Angeles collection, acquired in the 1950's.
