Costa Rica, Nicoya, Galo Polychrome figure

A fine Galo Polychrome figure from the Nicoya region of Costa Rica, c. AD 500 - 800. This standing female is depicted with hands held to her hips and has extensive body decoration representing clothing and tattoos. She wears a characteristic tanga (pubic cover) and is adorned with ear spools and peaked cap. H: 5". In wonderful condition, with great paint and dendrites. Cf.
