An excellent Chimu stirrup bottle with marine motif from Peru, ca. 1100 - 1450 AD. This choice example is 8-3/4" high and is decorated with four panels depicting sea birds and toyos, a type of shark indigenous to coastal waters of Peru. There are 2 shell adornos flanking the spout. Inn excellent condition, good mineral deposits. Ex Andrea Sarmiento collection, Miami.
