A choice Lambayeque (Sican) orange-ware pitcher from Peru, c. AD 700 - 1350, featuring a pair of adorable monkeys perched atop the chamber. The flared spout is decorated with deeply incised fertility related designs, as is the chamber. H: 6 ½". Intact, with good mineral deposits and trails. Ex Andrea Sarmiento collection, Miami.
