FRENCH SCHOOL PASTEL, MONOGRAMMED, LATE 19TH CENTURY, 5" X 16", HARBOR SCENE:Beautifully done pastel is in a painterly style and depicts a sleepy harbor town, in grey tones with pink hues, that is accented by the sailboat, with figures surrounding it, in the foreground and an ominous sky punctuating the background. Faintly monogrammed at the lower left, possibly "A.H. '81" (see photos). Under glass and within a gilt and gesso frame.

The image appears to be in good condition. Losses to the frame are evident. See photos. RG
