ROSENBURG, AFTER KLINKENBERG, GLAZED TILES,

ROSENBURG, AFTER KLINKENBERG, GLAZED EARTHENWARE TILES, C. 1900, SET OF EIGHT, 24 1/2" X 12" (IMAGE):Set of eight tiles are framed as one and depict a Dutch town square, done after the image by Johannes Christian Karel Klinkenberg, Dutch (1852-1924). The tiles are within a cradled frame. "Rozenburg Den Hagg" is at the lower right corner and "Klinkenberg" is at the lower left corner. On the verso, the tiles are stamped "Rozenburg Den Haag" and are numbered 1 through 8; one tile also contains the signed maker's mark. From the Estate of John Bloom, Donated to Cranbrook to Benefit the John Bloom Decorative Arts and Design Fund, Cranbrook Art Museum.

Craquelure evident to the tiles. RG
