Description
Early handpainted on canvas, by Dan Casola of 2525 Surf Ave, Brooklyn, NY. Nicely detailed, minor surface wear to "M" in armless. "Alive No Bones" signage is 1971-73 by Reynolds Inc, handpainted on canvas, crazing to the paint, some soiling, and tape repaired tear to bottom left (good).
Size: Armless Wonder 92" tall x 118"w Johnny Meah sent me this bit about Dan Casola - Danny Casella's work was largely viewed in Coney Island and occasionaly at fairs in nearby states where Rosen, a Coney Island operator , fielded a sideshow. Casella was a good artist, working mostly for the Millard& Blusterbaum scenic art house in Brooklyn-----but largely unheard of. My thanks to Johnny, artist, entertainer and gentleman also see this link - http://amusingthezillion.com/2009/11/16/rare-vintage-coney-island-sideshow-banner-by-dan-casola/
