Original 1846 Henry Aston Military Pistol

Model 1842 Pistol by Henry Aston, Middletown, Conn., Circa: 1846. Caliber .54. This Military Pistol is in original untouched condition and was the first primary U.S. Contract Model with the percussion ignition system after the flintlock era. It still has crisp, tight action and in good working order. There were 24,000 of this model made between the years 1846 & 1850. The top of the breech is stamped "US", and the "JCB" military inspector was Joseph C. Bragg, circa: 1846-1849. This highly sought after historical arm has been in a private estate in California for many years. SHI $25.
