Rebacked. 4to, quarter leather and green embossed cloth, gilt title and date to spine. Very rare second English edition of Vigo's system of surgery printed by Whitechurch. Title with architectural woodcut border with initials E. W. [Edward Whitechurch] on the base of the pillars. Black letter, text in double columns, ornamented initials throughout. Armorial bookplate of Sir William Stirling-Maxwell tipped in front pastedown. Minor dampstaining to interior; rubbing to spine; intermittent contemporary marginalia; otherwise fine.
