Description
Frontenac, Count Louis de (1622-1698), Autograph letter signed, May 27, 1646, two pages, in French, to his uncle, from Camp before Orbitello [sic], apologizing for not sending more news due to the unreliability of the courier service and confided about the sickness of his troops and the hopes to get back to France, 8vo, (ink burn through, minor chipping to edges).
Note: Frontenac's message and longing to be back in France would become more acute. During the siege of Orbetello, he was wounded and his right arm was permanently crippled as a result.
