Zwijger, Willem de, "William the Silent" (1533-1584), Manuscript document signed, Haerlerm, May 10, 1577, one page, in Dutch, to the magistrate in Utrecht taking certain areas in Holland out of the domination of Spain, with integral address leaf, folio, (sewing holes along left margin, minor soiling, else fine).

Note: William I (or William of Orange) was instrumental in establishing the United Provinces as an independent entity and his fierce opposition to Spanish domination led to the Eighty Years War.
