JAPANESE ADMIRAL TOGO BATTLE OF TSUSHIMA MEDAL Rare Japanese bronze medallion, dated to 1923, depicting the Japanese fleet and aircraft. Produced to commemorate admiral Togos, 1848-1934, decisive victory over the Russian navy. Togo was Japan's greatest admiral, the mentor of Emperor Hirohito, and one of the architects of Japan's emergence as a military power in the 20th century. Togo's keen military strategy and bold approach secured Japan's victory in the most decisive sea battle in history, the Battle of Tsushima. This medal is quite rare and not commonly known or found. Diameter 70mm. In original presentation box. In very good condition. EST. $300 - 600
