ANTIQUE JAPANESE SADAYOSHI SIGNED SUNOBI TANTO A Rare and desirable Yamato "SADAYOSHI" signed Japanese samurai sunobi tanto. Circa 1317. Ornate two piece silver over copper habaki. Gold over copper seppa. Signed tsuba. Very ornate Goto school shakudo signed fuchi. Copper lobster design fitting on saya. Ornate shakudo fuchi koshirae. Top class signed solid gold matched shakudo menuki. Kinzogan or solid gold inlay on fuchi. Baleen or whale hair tsuka-maki over sharkskin tsuka. Blade is flawless and has a full recent Japanese polish. Saya has lacquer loss on both edges, 3cm to one and 2cm to the other. The lacquer loss can be easily and economically be restored. Measurements: nagasa 29cm, blade width 31mm, blade thickness 7.5mm, total length 45cm. EST. $5000 - 7000
