FL. WOODPECKER SHELL GORGET BARNHILL COLLECTION A zoomorphic shell gorget woodpecker design surrounding swastika like design, 3x3 inches , 2 hole. Provenanced to E.G. Barnhill renowned among many things to Ancient America a Florida Hwy 1 sort of side show museum in the 1950's where the museum was built near a Calusa Indian mound, Mr. Barnhill tunneled into the mound and glassed over the sideds so visitors could view the mound contents. This gorget is now part of the Scott Young collection acquired on Ebay in 1999, the paperwork from that acquisition accompanies this piece. In its original state covered from shell. EST. $1000 - 2000
