Contemporary Franklin Institute binding of three-quarter black calf over marbled boards, spine ruled and lettered in gilt with "Frank. Inst." at foot and "Franklin Institute" in blind on covers, original blue printed wrappers bound-in. Condition: minor thumbsoiling; rebacked with repairs to losses at spine. Provenance: Memorial Library of the International Electrical Exhibition, 1884 (bookplate); The Franklin Institute Library, Philadelphia (booklabel). the edison company defends its patent rights for an electric railway.
