EINSTEIN, Albert (1879 - 1955). Typed letter signed, Peconic, Long Island, NY: 28 August 1938. Typed letter in German, signed "A. Einstein", 1 pg. (265 x 210 mm). Condition: folds, browning. Letter addressed to "Herrn Fr. Navara" of New York City, and translates in full "Dear Mr. Navara/ Enclosed you will find a reference letter from Mr. Morgenthau to the Secretary of the Navy, Mr. Swanson. It might be advisable to kindly thank the old man. / With high regards / A. Einstein." Navara was involved in the development of new acoustical directional guidance systems which he believed could be adapted for use in torpedos.
