Plates, illustrations and decorative borders engraved by Jacques Beltrand after Maurice Denis and printed in colors, bound in a contemporary tan morocco Jansenist binding by George Mercier, cream morocco doublures inlaid with elaborate border of tan, beige, green and lilac panels tooled in gilt, brown silk free endpapers, a.g.e., signed "G.Mercier...1927" on front doublure, original marbled wrappers bound in, morocco-edged marbled board slip-case. Condition: slipcase a little rubbed at edges and corners. Provenance: Beltrand's own copy with his signed autograph note loosely inserted. one of 130 copies, this copy for the bibliothèque nationale. Beltrand's note is dated May 1924 and reads, "Ce livre 'imprimé pour La Bibliothèque Nationale' vient de chez moi.
