Paris: Les Editions de Minuit, 1952. 8vo (185 x 120 mm). Original wrappers printed in blue and black, housed in a custom half-morocco clamshell case. Condition: evenly browned; spine darkened and very faintly cracked. Provenance: Carol Sands(?) (contemporary inscription to ffee, "vu au theatre Babylone / 28 Mars 1953"); The George Cosmatos Collection. first trade edition; the goerge cosmatos copy. Considered a masterpiece of his style, Beckett first published Waiting for Godot in 1952, and premiered it in January 1953. As the note attests, the original owner of this copy saw the first run in March of that year. Federman & Fletcher 259.
