Condition: light browning to endpapers, check thumsoiled and cancelled; lightly rubbed at head and foot of spine and corners. first edition with a signed check tipped-in. The check, dated February 1892 and signed by Stevenson orders $41.00 currency to be delivered from Mr. H.J. Moons, Esq. to Mr. Parker. The check is drawn upon Stevenson's acount in his adopted home of Valima in the Samoan Islands.
