Nicholas Dean (American, b. 1933), Alan Houhannes [sic], signed, titled and dated "NICHOLAS DEAN...1958" on the reverse; Gene Saunders (American, fl. circa 1950), Portrait, Man and Rocks, dated, dedicated, and signed "May 1963, For Nick Dean- A kind, strong and gentle spirit-A combination of man worth admiring. With warm regards-Gene Saunders." on the reverse. Gelatin silver prints, mounted, 9 1/2 x 7 1/2 in., unframed. Condition: Extremely mild surface abrasions and surface grime, foxing on the mounts.

Provenance: Through the estate of the artist, Wiscasset, Maine.
