Japanese Mixed Metal Brush Holder Meiji Period

A cylindrical form bronze brush holder inlaid with scenes of woods and birds in copper and gilt bronze. Meiji period, 2nd half of the 19th C. There is some wear and scuffing to the outside surfaces and the gilding on the top rim is worn but generally in quite good condition. Height 4" Diameter 3 1/4" at the base.
