D-32 Hunting Association "hirschfanger". One-piece stag grip with 3 gilt acorn/leaf insignia. Flat pommel with an acorn finial. Deer hoof ends on cross guard with a boars head in center. Clam-shell type guard with a relief stag/forest scene. 15 1/2" clean blade etched with hunting motifs, a stag, and a large panel with "Friedr. Herder Abr. Sohn - Solingen" (The Herder family were known makers of edged weapons.) Blade is unusual in that the inscription is on the reverse side of the blade and also reads from the edge down to the spine. Solid black leather scabbard with a brass throat (acorn frog hook) and tip. Includes original skinning knife with stag grips and engraved scenes on both side of blade. Several areas of pitting. Condition II $750.00
