D-47 Japanese "tanto". Blackened sharkskin wrapped grip. Single gilt "beehive" menuki. Old two-step habaki. 7 3/4" blade was tapered down and 2 3/8" of tip was cut off, during the American Occupation to comply with the anti-weapons laws. Black lacquered scabbard. 19th Century. A display item. Condition III $40.00
