Japanese Katana samurai sword

D-74 Japanese Katana. 23 1/2" blade which has a "chewed" edge. Scattered dark pitting - blade is engraved with a dragon and characters. Copper habaki has a 1/2" gold overlay bearing a checkered pattern with each area holding a "mum". Tang is cut, has 2 holes, and most of signature remains "...Inaba Province". Smith was probably Toshinori. Old iron tsuba is decorated with a dragon on each side and beaded edge. Black cord wrapped white sharkskin grip. Gold floral menuki. Plain brass pommel cap and ferrule. One half of military leather cover remains on wood saya. Brass throat band and ring. Circa 1825. Condition III $400.00
