E-1 Austrian M1905 Dragoon officer's helmet. Black refinished lacquered metal body. Large gilt double-headed Hapsburg eagle ("FJ1" shield on chest) frontplate. Detailed gilt oak leaf chinscales and large lion head bosses. Two brass "ribs" on each side. Gilt highlights remain on the 4 3/4" high gilt metal comb with a relief lion attacking a snake - on both sides. Top comb strap has darkened and has small dents. Leather sweatband and black silk lining. An attractive helmet. About condition II $750.00
