F-103 - Aero uniform grouping: (1) Wool O.D. four-pocket, standup collar tunic. Has both collar discs - "U.S." and winged propeller. Small moth hole on sleeve - otherwise excellent. (2) Matching breeches. (3) Additional tunic as above - with both collar discs "U.S." and Signal Corps (early Aero insignia). Victory Medal with one bar "FRANCE". Also a celluloid pin with photo of owner and card with "SAMUEL J. CARROLL - 1104TH AERO Repl. Sqdn. FRANCE". With breeches and belt. (4) D.I. hat with black and silver hat cords with "acorns". (5) Mess kit with fork, spoon and knife - "US LF & Co 1918". (6) O'seas cap with enameled pin - "WORLD WAR VETERAN". (7) Gas mask with case and shoulder strap. (8) Photos of six aircraft. (9) Photo of Samuel James Carroll, Army Bible and newspaper clipping of his letters back home. (10) AERO "patches": propeller with "114", "411" and "496". (11) Pair - "wrap-arounds".
