G-4 - Presentation Mettlach etched 1/2L. "Athletic" stein. Figure holding a flag and a barbell - colorful background with designs/floral work/mottos and two athletic association emblems of four back-to-back "F's". Same emblem in relief on lid, with pewter rim engraved "THROWING THE DISCUS - BAA Sept. 7, 1896 - First Prize" (presented by the Boston ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION to F. J. Young). Pewter eagle thumb-lift. Bottom marked with castle/"METTLACH"/"1914" (pattern number)/dated "95"/etc. Excellent. I.....$500.00
