S-19 All of the following lots are from the estate of Col. Alan J. Kennedy who served in WWI, China, Panama and in England during WWII. - Lot of medals, citations, and related items. Includes: (1) Purple Heart - WWI engraved to "ALLAN J. KENNEDY". Numbered "5091". Received for WWI. (2) VICTORY MEDAL - with bars "AISNE - MARNE", "MEUSE - ARGONNE" and "DEFENSE SECTOR". (3) Same - miniature with additional bars - "CHAMPAGNE - MARANE" AND "ST. MIHIEL". (4) Silver bar for "LYS" - "MADE IN FRANCE". (5) Ribbon bars: 2 single Purple Heart, 2 Purple Heart/Victory Medal with 5 Battle Stars, 1 as above, with a British WWI Service Medal. (6) WWI "dog tags" - "A.J. KENNEDY - CAPT. - INF. - USA". (7) Single Captain's Bar. (8) 1919 State of Massachusetts citation for war service. (9) Formal WWI photo portrait as an Infantry Captain. 9 1/2" x 6 7/8". (10) Cased Legion of Merit. Engraved to "ALLAN J. KENNEDY". (11) Formal citation for above - with mailing tube. (12) Official notification of above - with 6 carbon copies and mailing tube. (13) Three 2-ribbon bars: Purple Heart/Legion of Merit. (14) Unusual two-piece Sharpshooter Badge with 3 bars: "PISTOL – D", "AUTO RIFLE" and "RIFLE - A", reverse marked "CHISPULO ZAMORA". (15) Colonel dress uniform eagles - marked "Luxemberg - STERLING". (16) Two gilt officer peaked cap eagles. (17) Separation papers and a "CERTIFICATE OF SERVICE" card. (18) Lot of 4 official Presidential appointments as a "Second Lieutenant of Infantry", one of which is for the reserves. All 14 1/2" x 11", signed and dated between 1917 and 1919. (19) Lot of 2 - similar to above - for a "First Lieutenant of Infantry". Dated 1918 and 1920. (20) Similar to above – for "Captain of Infantry". Dated 1921 and signed by the Sec. of War "John A. Hull". Framed. (21) Similar to above - for a "Major of Infantry". Dated 1935. Framed. (22) Similar to above - for a "Lieutenant Colonel of Infantry" Dated 1940.
