S-25 - Lot of miscellaneous material related to the military career of Col. Allan J. Kennedy. Includes: (1) Two "Certificate of Commendation" dated "1939" and signed by "Major General J. A. Woodruff". (2) 4" x 6 3/4" brass door plaque engraved "ALLAN J. KENNEDY - UNITED STATES ARMY". (3) Letters related to Kennedy's "MERITORIOUS AND OUTSTANDING SERVICE…", complementing his superior performance, related 1940 service in Panama and his personal health status. (4) Seven typed pages on the "HISTORICAL AND BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH OF THE KENNEDY FAMILY". (5) Group of letters including one from China (1929) with interesting comments, three from Panama and eleven from England (1940 - 1941) mentioning the bombing and its effects on the population, meeting dignitaries and views of the war. (6) Diplomatic passport named to Kennedy as a Lt. Col. With British stampings. (7) Photos including wartime, portrait with other ranking officers and marriage portrait. (8) Miscellaneous, including "V-MAIL" from a friend in India, newspaper articles, Army ID card, 1941 "AMERICAN CHAMBER OF CONGRESS IN LONDON" form for the "ANGLO-AMERICAN YEARBOOK", leatherette "DISCHARGE SERVICE RECORD" wallet, fold-out map of Germany with aerial targets, as well as a similar map on Southeast Asia, Separation papers, etc. (9) Newspaper obituaries and testimonials to Col. Kennedy, a national certificate honoring the memory of Allan J. Kennedy and a letter to Mrs. Kennedy from the "CARDINAL'S RESIDENCE…" with a Mass Card and signed "Richard Cardinal Cushing".
