A-20 Lot of material related to the German WWII battleship Admiral Graf Spee. Includes: (1) Blue "Donald Duck" cap with a brass eagle/swastika and rosette insignia. Gold embroidered "Panzerschiff Admiral Graf Spee" on black silk tally. Brown leather sweatband shows some minor wear. Very good condition. (2) Graf Spee trumpet banner: relief embroidered "Kriegsflagge" - Iron Cross in corner of red field, dissected by a white outlined black cross holding a black swastika, on a white disc. Reverse has a light blue field with a large embroidered shield having a relief embroidered crowned rooster and three diamonds in diagonal corners. Gold bullion fringe on three sides. Blue field shows some light soiling. Suspension snap hooks in top corners. (3) "Graf Spee - The Life and Death of a Raider" by Dudley Pope. 1956 publication. 256 pp. (4) "Panzerschiff/Admiral Graf Spee" by Siegfried Breyer. Soft cover pictorial, published in 1989. 48 pp. (5) "The Battle of the River Plate" by Dudley Pope. 27 pp. (The pocket battleship Graf Spee sank 12 British ships in 1939 before it was trapped in Monte Video Harbor by a British squadron. To avoid capture she was scuttled by Capt. Landsdorff before he committed suicide.) A rare historical grouping. Condition II.....$2,500.00
