Pair of geometric, circular lidded bowls with lacquered wood lids, zisha (redware) clay, Yixing of Jiangsu Province, China; unmarked. Zisha pottery is a type of iron-rich local clay only fired in the city of Yixing in Jiangsu province, China. It originated in the middle period of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The finished stoneware is unglazed and usually red or brown in color. Dimensions: Each 1-3/8"H x 7" diameter; with lid 1-7/8"H x 7" diameter Condition reportExcellent.
